- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on January11, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731
Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Marion, Treasurer Gordon, Trustee
R. Prehn and R. Marion. Two other citizens were present.
- Mr. R. Prehn
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. R. Prehn
moved, supported by Mrs. Marion that the agenda be approved as
presented.
- Mr. R. Marion
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the consent agenda be approved
as presented.
- Approved
minutes from December 14 regular meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approved
Accounts Payable in the amount of $3,169.42.
- Approved
the 4th quarter payroll for the month of January in the amount
of $4,655.67.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. Mr. Zahn mentioned that some townships
are looking into banning the use of bicycles on certain roads.
He also brought to the board's attention that a few traffic signs
were missing or taken down in the township. Mr. Zahn contacted
the WCRC who responded in a timely manner to insure that the signs
were put back up.
- Board members
paid monthly - A motion was made by Mr. R. Marion and supported
by Mr. R. Prehn that the board receives payroll monthly instead
of quarterly. Currently the IRS is requiring the township to make
monthly liability payments, therefore paying the board at the
same time will allow bookkeeping for the Clerk more manageable.
- 8. Supervisor's
Report:
- WCRC
- will attend the March meeting to address the public on the
upcoming year. In addition, there may be matching funds available
this year for ditching, berm work, etc.
- Fred
Lucas - reviewing leases for Dakota Oil, township board will
be signing as soon as they have the go ahead from Fred. The
township is still waiting on whether or not the injunction
for Rita Fatel is still in effect.
- Rate
of inflation will be a negative number this year. Some township
residence may see a decrease in their taxes.
- Don
Pennington will be invited to attend the next Planning Commission
Meeting.
- Re-appointed
to the Planning Commission are Richard Zahn, Laurie Leinbach
and Trudy Feldkamp; and to the Zoning Board of Appeals is
Carrie DeJonghe.
- Trustee
Report - Mr. R. Prehn is trying to get a report from the Michigan
State Police as to the current activity in the township; it is
the boards hope that are there will be something to report at
the February meeting.
- Zoning/Building
Administrator Report - none.
- No Fireboard
Report - budget meeting will take place this month.
- Township
hall manager reported that the motor on the furnace was not working.
As a result, it was fixed on January 11, 2010.
- Board Member

- The meeting
adjourned at 8:20 pm.
