April 12, 2010
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on April 12, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731
Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Jim Marion, Clerk Kelly Marion, Treasurer
Judy Gordon, Trustees Robert Prehn and Robert Marion. Four other
citizens were present.
- Mr. R. Prehn
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. Robert
Marion moved, supported by Mr. Robert Prehn, that the agenda be
approved as presented.
- Mrs. Judy
Gordon moved, supported by Mr. Robert Marion, that the consent
agenda be approved with the following change. (5a) Add Mrs. Judy
Gordon to the March 8th meeting as attended.
- Approve
minutes from March 8 Regular Meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $17,152.74.
- Approve
Accounts Payable; miscellaneous bills after March 8th meeting
through March 31st in the amount of $2,284.18.
- Approve
1st quarter payroll for April in the amount of $5,186.99.
- Cemetery
Clean Up April 17, 2010.
- Spring
Clean Up June 19, 2010.
- h. Dakota
Oil - move to rescind the authority to enter into leases with
Dakota Oil for the oil and gas leases covering the cemetery
properties.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. One citizen questioned if the township
was placing a millage on the ballot for the upcoming election;
and the township is not.
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- Assessor
Contract for 2010-2011 with Washtenaw County Equalization
- Judy Gordon moved, supported by Robert Marion that the township
continue with Washtenaw County Equalization as the township
assessor. 5 Ayes and 0 Nays.
- Washtenaw
County Road Commission second coat of brine/matching funds-
Township is requesting to be placed on the list with WCRD
in order to receive our first coat of brine ASAP. The township
will also be using the matching funds for the second coat
of brine. The road committee has a proposed 2010 list of roads
for the improvement program.
- Trustee
Report - Don Pennington attended the last Planning Commission
meeting in February to discuss the corrections needed to the Master
Plan; Robert Prehn will be working with Don to achieve the corrections.
- Zoning/Building
Administrator - Mr. Robert Marion will attend the court date on
April 14th with regards to the home on Mooreville Rd. Two zoning
permits were issued.
- Fireboard
Report -Budgets were approved. Saline Fire Department has hired
a new fireman.
- Township
Hall Manager Report - No report. May 1st in Chelsea will be the
county wide clean up.
- Board Member
Comments - Mrs. Judy Gordon commented that she's almost settled
up with the county. Supervisor Marion mentioned that the State
Police and Washtenaw County will both patrol the township for
the mean time.
