October 11, 2010
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on October 11, 2010 at 7:30PM at the Saline Town Hall,
5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Marion, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
R. Prehn and R. Marion. Three other citizens were present.
- Mr. Prehn
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. R. Marion
moved, supported by Mr. R. Prehn that the agenda be approved as
presented.
- Mr. R. Marion
moved, supported by Mr. R. Prehn, that the consent agenda be approved
as presented.
- Approve
minutes from September 13 regular meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $5,381.48.
- Approve
Payroll for October in the amount of $5,186.99.
- Approve
Second Quarter Operating Runs to Saline Fire Department in
the amount of $21,178.18.
- Road
Improvement Program and Second Coat of Brine to Washtenaw
County Road Commission in the amount of $40,573.34 (Brine
$8,993.34 RIP $31,580).
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. Mr. Pete Morris was in to express his concern
of the ongoing noise coming from his neighbor's home. This has
been an issue for some time and currently the township attorney
has been in contact with Mr. Morris's attorney. Saline Township
has done all they can do at this point from here this issue may
end in court.
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- Rita
Fetal - there was some improvement to the exterior of Mrs.
Fetal's home however Supervisor Marion and Truste Marion will
have one last meeting with her on October 18, 2010. At that
time there will be a decision made as to whether or not the
township will be hiring their own company to complete the
job.
- Tables
& Chairs - Tables and chairs are available to the Saline
Township residents however they will need to be signed in
and out. A key will need to be picked up from a board member.
- Oak
Cemetery - No news, still waiting to see what can be done
with the fence.
- Dan
Cabage - Gravel pits to be inspected within the next couple
of weeks.
- Trustee
report - The last Planning Commission ended up as a regular meeting
instead of a special meeting for A& H Landscaping due to non
publication of the meeting. A special meeting will be held for
A&H on November 9, 2010 at 7:30pm. There are two ordinances
that need attention; Mr. R. Prehn will be meeting with the township
planner to finalize them. Mr. Prehn will also be meeting with
Don Pennington to finalize the Master Plan. The State Police were
called to the township for several violations over the last three
months (July 14 calls, August 16 calls and September 11 calls).
Mr. R. Marion reported that Mr. Larry Roehm is still waiting on
payment from the county for the damage that was caused to his
sheep by stray dogs.

Zoning/Building
Administrator - Mr. R Marion has received a few calls in regards
to the rules and regulations of building within the township.

Fireboard
report - Possible union to be formed for the six full time fire
fighters.

Township
hall manager reported that the fire extinguishers have been
serviced. The cost of a new furnace would be the same as quoted
three years ago; Mrs. K. Marion is looking into the previous
estimate. A sign will be posted at the recycling bin asking
residences not to leave their recycling outside of the bin.

Board Member
Comments - Mrs. Gordon will be taking an updated class for Treasurers,
cost will be around $100.00. Mrs. Gordon has also purchased
her new computer and informed the board that the country treasurer
will be colleting the fee for dog licenses.
