April 14, 2008
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on April 14, 2008 at 8:15pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731
Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
Bohnett and R. Marion. Twelve Three other citizens were present.
- Mrs. Baldus
moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett, that the agenda be corrected
by deleting Michigan State Police report. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion
carried.
- Mr. Bohnett
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon, that the consent agenda be approved
as presented.
- Approve
minutes from March 10 regular meeting and Settlement meetings
March 21 and 27.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $1,085.71.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. No comments.
- Michigan
State Police came to the Annual meeting for a brief presentation.
- Steve Purri
of Washtenaw County Road Commission and other staff members were
in attendance to present the Commissions 2008 Annual Report. Citizens
had many comments and concerns regarding the roadways. A brief
discussion of proposing a ballot tax issue for road upkeep was
also discussed. There are no extra funds at the Road Commission
or at Saline Township level to maintain the roads adequately.
More discussion at the May meeting will occur.
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- Cemetery
clean up Saturday April 19th at 9:00 a.m.
- Christmas
in Action may be addressing the Johnson home near the City
limits.
- Saline
Township information flyer will be discussed next month.
- Millage
for roads will be discussed in May.
- No Trustees
report.
- Zoning/Building
Administrator reported complaints that are trying to be resolved.
- No Fireboard
report.
- Township
Hall Manager reported that everything is going well.
- Citizens'
comments included the following: Township Engineer, Dan Cabage,
offered to help regarding the culvert issue on Case Road for the
communication tower.
- The meeting
adjourned at 9:20 pm.
