August 10, 2009

  1. The Regular Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Marion on August 10, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.

  2. Members present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Marion, Treasurer Gordon, Trustee
    R. Marion. Trustee R. Prehn was absent. Eighteen other citizens were present.

  3. Mrs. Marion led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  4. Mr. Robert Marion moved, supported by Mrs. Judy Gordon that the agenda approved with the following changes. (7b) August 20th Drain Commission Meeting on the Hammond Branch of Weinette Drain District; (7c) State Police.

  5. Mr. Robert Marion moved, supported by Mrs. Judy Gordon that the consent agenda be approved as presented.
    1. Approve minutes from July 13 regular meeting.
    2. Receive Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
    3. Approve Accounts Payable in the amount of $10,667.32.

  6. Citizens were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not already on the agenda. Dan Cabage updates the Township on the Crown Castle Cell Tower; at this point the earth work is done and the permit is good through the end of September. DTE and Bell Cable to visit the site the week of August 18th.

  7. Supervisor Marion commented on the following:

    1. WCPARC - Township has no trails currently, up to the individual owners.
    2. August 20th Drain Commission Meeting on the Hammond Branch of Weinette Drain District to be held at the Saline Township Hall at 7:00pm.
    3. State Police will be asked to attend the September 14th meeting.

  8. Washtenaw County Road Commission - The Saline Township Road Committee along with WCRC have chosen several roads throughout the township in which will be spot fixed over the next several week. A list of these roads has been placed on the Townships web site. A motion was made by Robert Marion and supported by Kelly Marion to contract WCRC to complete said work. Current budget for work is set at $85,000.

  9. No Trustee report.

  10. Zoning/Building Administrator reported that the boulders at Oak Hill are still there, Township may remove them. A complaint was made due to dirt bikes in Oak Park.

  11. Fireboard Report - City of Saline is considering purchasing a new tanker for $450,000.

  12. Township Hall Manager Report - No report.

  13. Board Member Comments - Judy Gordon commented that the treasures office will be closed August 16th thru August 26th.
