February 9, 2009

  1. The Regular Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Marion on February 9, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.

  2. Members present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Marion, Treasurer Gordon, Trustee R. Marion & Trustee R. Prehn. 2 other citizens were present.

  3. Mr. R. Prehn led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  4. Mr. R. Marion moved, supported by Mr. R. Prehn that the agenda approved with the following changes: (7e) Settlement Date March 23, 2009, (7f) Deanna Shank renting hall, (7g) Road Commission April Meeting, (7h) March meeting, (7i) Washtenaw County Building Department.

  5. Mr. R. Marion moved, supported by Mr. R. Prehn, that the consent agenda be approved as revised.
    1. Approve minutes from January 12 regular meeting.
    2. Receive Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
    3. Approve Accounts Payable in the amount of $2,606.60.
    4. Declined MTA-PAC additional contribution.
    5. Spring 2009 Cemetery Clean Up date April 18th; alternate date April 25th.
    6. Approved Educational Workshop for Kelly Marion.

  6. Citizens were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not already on the agenda. 1 citizen commented on Saline Township brochure.

  7. Supervisor's Report:
    1. Kathy Angerer to attend March meeting.
    2. Feldkamp Bridge Resolution - 42,000 for design; township would be responsible for half; 15,000 in line if stimulus package is offered half of which is the responsibility of the township; Saline Township due back any monies out of the stimulus if warranted. A motion was made by Trustee R. Marion supported by Trustee R. Prehn that a resolution is drafted for Feldkamp Bridge over Saline River to participate with Washtenaw County Road Commissions bridge study.
    3. Lawn Service Bids due by March 16, 2009.
    4. Number of tires collected and cost from last year are being looked into in order to make informed decision on the number of tiers that will be allowed this year per house hold.
    5. Settlement date- March 23, 2009.
    6. Deanna Shank possibly to rent the town hall for exercise classes. Cost to be $50.00 a session; insurance from Deanna Shank to be supplied to the Township.
    7. Road Commission to attend April Meeting.
    8. March meeting will be held in the basement of the town hall due to Board of Review.
    9. Washtenaw County Building Department will be in place until December 2009.


  8. No Trustee Report.

  9. Zoning/Building Administrator Report - Grading of the Saline Township lot, recommendations to follow. Morse Decker to respond to Fred Lucas with regards to multi-family home on Macon, response requested by February 15, 2009. Cell tower on Case Road in need of culvert for driveway.

  10. Fireboard Report - Cost for the township going up for 2009. Saline Fire Department looking for a new tanker.

  11. Township Hall Manager Report - No report.

  12. Board Member Comments-Mrs. Gordon collecting taxes until February 17, 2009 without a late fee. Will collect all taxes until March 2nd. March 3rd the county will be collecting.
