March 10, 2008
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on March 10, 2008 at 7:35pm at the Saline Town Hall, 5731
Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
Bohnett and R. Marion. Twelve other citizens were present.
- Mr. Bohnett
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. R. Marion
moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett, that the agenda be approved as
presented. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Mr. Bohnett
moved, supported by Mrs. Baldus, that the consent agenda be approved
as presented.
- Approve
minutes from February 11 regular meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approve
4th quarter payroll of $16,820.32.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $14,041.47.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. Mrs. Gordon spoke out for another resident
regarding the approach of Willow Road at the intersection of Jordan
Road. Mr. Bohnett will call the Road Commission.
- No attendance
from the Michigan State Police.
- Washtenaw
County Commission, Jessica Ping Mills was present to inform the
residents of current issues in the surrounding communities as
well as within the County of Washtenaw.
- County Building
inspector Don Schnettler was present to introduce himself and
the services that the County can provide to the Township
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- City
of Saline is proposing to annex the southeast corner of Willis
Road and Saline Milan Road, as well as the 3 houses on Saline
Milan Road. Boundary Commission would certainly entertain
the idea; but the residences may be hesitant. Township could
also consider a possible 425 echange.
- Supervisor
and Trustee Bohnett met with the City of Saline to further
talk and plan the 425 agreement. Introduction of the new City
Manager also occurred at this meeting.
- Attorney
Lucas was present to discuss possible new ordinances. The ordinances
titles included Civil Infractions, Nuisance and Junk, Blight,
Hazardous Buildings.
- No Trustees
report.
- Zoning/Building
Administrator reported complaints that are trying to be resolved.
- No Fireboard
report.
- Township
Hall Manager reported that everything is going well.
- Citizens'
comments included the following: Annual clean up date is set for
May 17, 2008; Settlement Day will be March 21 and 27; Rich has
made a Township information flyer for the Board to review and
update if necessary.
- The meeting
adjourned at 8:50 pm.
