The Department is not participating in the "practice burns"

fines from the DEQ. Chief Hoeft is in support of the proposed
Ordinance to help the Saline Township regulate and control fires
within the Township. Mr. Bohnett moved, supported by Mrs. Baldus

Marion commented on the following:
- Mrs.

understated by $1,215; therefore the whole account receivable

for FYE 07-08. Motion carried.
- Mrs.
Baldus read the election results: Lesch and Slawson were the
top 2 candidates for Saline Area Schools and No voters came
for Milan Schools.
- Township
has been notified of Feldkamp Road Bridge closure. Washtenaw
County Road Commission was present to help explain the situation.
In order to apply for Federal/State funding on local bridge
work, the bridge must be closed and an application for funding
is due in June. Notification of bridge eligibility funding
will be in November of 2008; but the funds will not be available
until 2011. Approximate total bridge cost to repair is $600,000
to $700,000. Washtenaw County Road Commission share is $200,000
leaving $100,000 for the Township portion. The township does
not have any funds of that magnitude to repair the Feldkamp
Bridge. Township matching portion may be used to help cover
the Townships' liability. Mrs. Gordon moved, supported by
Mr. R. Marion to apply for Federal/State funding on Feldkamp
Bridge. Motion carried.
