October 13, 2008
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on October 13, 2008 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall,
5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
Bohnett and R. Marion. Four other citizens were present and Township
Attorney Fred Lucas.
- Mrs. Baldus
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. Bohnett
moved, supported by Mrs. Gordon that the agenda approved as presented.
Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Mrs. Baldus
moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett, that the consent agenda be approved
as presented.
- Approve
minutes from September 8 regular meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $39,605.44.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. Clerk reported Braun Road and Roehm Road
stop sign is damaged.
- Township
Engineer Dan Cabage reported on Case Road cell tower culvert situation.
Sprint Company has resubmitted site plan to the Washtenaw County
Road Commission as of October 8, 2008. Further updates and improvements
are expected to be performed by Sprint this fall; if adequate
improvements are not performed, Township has a bond that can be
used to cover the cost of improvements.
- Township
Board and Township Attorney had a significant discussion regarding
Ordinance
2008-02. After presentation, Mr. R. Marion moved, supported by
Mrs. Gordon, to accept Ordinance 2008-02 Civil Infractions. Ayes:
5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- Washtenaw
Road Commission received notice that Fedlkamp Road Bridge
did not receive any state funding for repairs. Commission
is expected to temporarily fix the bridge for normal automobile
traffic this fall.
- Joint
meeting with the Saline Planning Commission will be held on
Monday October 27 at 7:30 pm to discuss 4 member steering
committees.
- Mr.
Bohnett moved, supported by Mr. R. Marion to return application
fee to Taylor Jacobsen. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Fence
at Riverridge will be fixed in October or November of 2008.
- County
clean up will be held on Saturday November 1, 2008 at EMU
Stadium.
- Another
bid for the cemetery repair is $3,300.
- Hinkley
Excavating parking lot project will be put on hold till later.
- Mr. R. Marion
moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett to accept the Michigan Farmland
Agreement for Kirk and Marilyn Gordon. Applications need to be
forwarded onto Michigan Department of Agriculture. Ayes: 5. Nays:
0. Motion carried.
- No Trustee
report.
- No Zoning/Building
Administrator report.
- No Fireboard
report.
- Township
hall manager reported furnace is working for the winter months.
Also Ed made an announcement that he will be resigning as soon
as possible.
- The meeting
adjourned at 8:55 pm
