September 10, 2007
- The Regular
Meeting of the Saline Township Board was called to order by Supervisor
Marion on September 10, 2007 at 7:30pm at the Saline Town Hall,
5731 Braun Road, Saline, MI 48176.
- Members
present: Supervisor Marion, Clerk Baldus, Treasurer Gordon, Trustees
Bohnett and R. Marion. Twelve other citizens were present.
- Mr. Bohnett
led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Mr. R. Marion
moved, supported by Mr. Bohnett, that the agenda be approved as
presented. Ayes: 5. Nays: 0. Motion carried.
- Mr. Bohnett
moved, supported by Mr. R. Marion, that the consent agenda be
approved as presented.
- Approve
minutes from August 13 regular meeting.
- Receive
Clerk's budget, Financial Report.
- Approve
3rd quarter Payroll $16,820.29.
- Approve
Accounts Payable in the amount of $13,072.43.
- Citizens
were offered a chance to address the Board regarding items not
already on the agenda. No Comments.
- Supervisor
Marion commented on the following:
- City
of Saline has hired Carl Barr of Ypsilanti to help them with
some of the legal issues regarding Biltmore. Attorney Lucas
has been in contact with the City and has discussed the consent
agreement along with the 425 possibilities. Attorneys Lucas,
Barr and Greene will be meeting on Friday to have further
discussion regarding the law suit.
- Washtenaw
County Road Commission has lowered many of the rural bridge
load limits. Some apprehension regarding this limit because
the weight of current fire trucks may be over the allowable
limit. Road Commission will have only 3 members versus the
proposed discussion of having a board of 5 members.
- Washtenaw
County Permits Building had a meeting discussing the possibilities
of increasing permit rates, cutting back staff or not providing
services to local areas which would include Village of Dexter,
Augusta, Lodi, Scio, and Saline Townships.
- Clerk
Baldus handed out a draft copy of an Employee Manual. Members
will read and discuss any issues next month. Attorney Lucas
will receive a copy for review. Manual should be established
in January 2008.
- Jacqueline
Oakley of Ypsilanti would like the Board to grant her permission
to photograph and post Oakhill Cemetery tombstones to the internet.
Mrs. Gordon would like Jacqueline to be present at the October
meeting to ask questions and be present with credentials.
- Trustees
report consisted of inquiries regarding the completion of Willow
Road culvert and a residential fence complaint.
- No Zoning/Building
Administrator report.
- No Fireboard
Meeting report.
- Township
Hall Manager reported fixing one more window.
- Mrs. Gordon
reminded residents that September 14th is the due date for summer
deferments or payment of taxes. Mrs. Gumtow reminded citizens
that Fall cleanup is cancelled.
- The meeting
adjourned at 8:35 pm.
