Township Planning Commission
Regular Meeting, January 11, 2006
Members Present:
Richard Zahn, Neil Bohnett, Trudy Feldkamp, Keith Girbach, Laurie

Supervisor Marion, Alan Block, approximately 10 others
Meeting
was called to order by Chairman Zahn at 7:35 pm.
Roll was taken; six members present; quorum established.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Girbach.
Approval of Minutes. Leinbach moved to accept the minutes
of the December 14, 2005 Planning Commission meeting; Zink supported;
vote taken; unanimous in favor; minutes approved.
Approval of Agenda. Bohnett moved to accept the agenda for the
January 11, 2006 Planning Commission meeting; Zink supported; vote
taken; unanimous in favor; agenda approved.
Announcements:
None.
Public Comments:
None.
New Business:
- Issues from
the Township Board.
- Haeussler/Peters
Building, has met with City of Saline and Supervisor Marion.
May be interested in a 425 agreement. Will schedule discussion
at February Planning Commission meeting (February 15, 2006)
- Roads
are not good. Bohnett will contact county road commission.
- Levy
tax for legal fees? One mil would equal approximately $72,000.
Pennington has not yet sent reports, but is scheduled to meet
with Supervisor Marion next week.
- The Township
Board will obtain bids for standing bins to be used for recycling.
- Bohnett
related an article he had read regarding wind power machines.
Discussion. The Township should look into whether an ordinance
is needed. Bohnett will research.
Old Business:
- Biltmore.
As discussed (above) we are still waiting for reports from Don
Pennington. Once received, a special meeting may be needed.
- Dan Cabage
reported on excavations/pits. There are previous issues still
outstanding on both the Marion and Niethammer pits. Should have
a report by the February Planning Commission meeting.
- Austin Commons
II. There are a couple of issues in the plan that still need to
be resolved.
Comment:
The Township
Board passed a resolution at their January 9, 2006 meeting that
the Township will not be responsible for well failures (Department
of Environmental Quality requested the resolution) in the Austin
Commons II development.
The Marion Pit,
if sold, the new owners assume all responsibility for all requirements
(i.e., reclamation, limits, etc.).

adjournment; Leinbach support; meeting adjourned, 7:55 p.m. The
next regular meeting will be on February 15, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.
at the Township hall.
