Regular Meeting, May 10, 2006

Supervisor Marion, Robert Marion, Dan Cabage, Alan Block, approximately
15 others
Meeting
was called to order by Chairman Zahn at 7:35 pm.
Roll was taken; five members present (Rankin arrived approximately
7:45); quorum established.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Zink.
Approval of Minutes. Zink moved to accept the minutes of
the April 12, 2006 Planning Commission meeting; Leinbach supported;
vote taken; unanimous in favor; minutes approved.
Approval of Agenda. Leinbach moved to accept the agenda for
the May 10, 2006 Planning Commission meeting; Bohnett supported;
vote taken; unanimous in favor; agenda approved.
Announcements:
Ann Arbor News article, "Scio Township Development
",
Tuesday, May 9 issue. Supplied by J. Marion, re: wasterwater treatment,
discusses special assessment district. Dan Cabage was asked to do
some research on new systems. Who's liable? Still a gray area.
Public Comments:
Letter from Rita Feitel, dated May 10, 2006, to Planning Commission
and Township Board; urges the Township to make full use of County
resources.
New Business:
- Board
Issues
- Don Pennington
to be asked to attend June Planning Commission meeting (June
14). Talk about Clink operation, dumping, water issues.
- Tom Green
addressed the Board, speaking against Biltmore development.
- Cemetery
ordinance, need to address cremation space per Michigan Township
Association. Need to review. Lois is researching.
- Millage,
meeting is scheduled with attorney, Fred Lucas, to finalize
language of ballot proposal. Sepcial meeting is on May 22,
2006, 7:30 Saline Township Hall.
- Saline
River Greenway Alliance. Meeting on May 19th, Saline Township
Hall, 11:00 am.
- Developers,
Haeussler, etc, any contact? Nothing at this time.
Old Business:
- Gravel Pits.
Dan Cabage reported that final 2005 inspection have been completed
and documents have been sent to the Township and to the owners/operators.
There are some issues to be addressed.
Public
Comments:
- Township
clean-up day - discussions around the bins, opposition to Biltmore
development.
- Flyers in
mailboxes. Just sticking flyers in is illegal. Next mailing needs
to follow US Post Office policies and need to have postage.
- Brinkman
and Pennington will be invited to the next Planning Commission
meeting.
- County clean-up
day, Saturday, June 3 at Lincoln School. Some items that will
be accepted include oil, grease, appliances, batteries.
Bohnett moved
for adjournment; Leinbach support; meeting adjourned, 8:25 p.m.
The next regular meeting will be on June 14, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.
at the Township hall.
