Saline Township Planning Commission
Regular Meeting, February 6, 2008

Members Present:
Richard Zahn, Neil Bohnett, Trudy Feldkamp, Laurie Leinbach, Gary Luckhardt, Chuck Rankin

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm.

Roll was taken; quorum established.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by Rankin.

Approval of Minutes, January 2, 2008: motion by Bohnett, supported by Rankin; vote unanimous to approve.

Approval of Agenda, February 6, 2008: motion by Luckhardt to approve agenda, supported by Leinbach; vote unanimous to approve.

Public Comments:
None.

New Business:

1. Items from the Board.
   1. Raise of fees, in line with other townships.
   2. Signs for Marion Road on US 12 (Highway signs identifying that road is coming up).
   3. Urban District, City would like us to expand area, we won't.
   4. Washtenaw Wireless, slow going right now.
   5. Austin Commons, close to being ready for occupancy.
   6. Board request to Planning Commission to think about meetings every other month (short discussion, used to be on this schedule).
   7. Go along with the County on PDR.
      
      
2. Special Use Permit Application. Jim Haeussler and Richard Neithammer presented the plan. They need truck access for the Marion Pit directly on to Michigan Avenue, to discontinue access through Finkbeiner Pit. An old building has been removed, the road reconstructed, sight clearance is better than at the Finkbeiner drive.
   
   Discussion. Dan Cabage should be contacted regarding the safety issue. Public Hearing scheduled for March 5 meeting.

   It was noticed that the wording on the Special Use form needs to be updated to the current wording in the new Ordinance

3. Other
   None

Old Business:

1. Planning Commission By-Laws. To also include the election of officers, once approved. Leinbach made the motion that Planning Commission By-Laws discussion be tabled until the March 5, 2008 meeting, until all members are present; Luckhardt support; vote five (Zahn, Feldkamp, Leinbach, Luckhardt, Rankin) in favor of the motion, one against (Bohnett). Matter tabled until March 5 Planning Commission meeting.
