Announcements:

  1. J. Marion attended the Washtenaw County Road Commission meeting earlier in the day. The Township Board had decided to use matching funds on a second round of brine application. Opinion was to get on the County's list now instead of later. When is the earliest application? Should be around mid-May. He also heard about a possible realignment that may have more trucks coming our direction.

Call to the Public:

  1. None.

New Business:

  1. Items from the Board.
    1. Road Commission representative attended the last Township Board meeting. There was a spirited exchange. The road plan for the next year was presented. We are one of only two townships that attend the road commission meetings.
    2. Prehn will receive reports from the State Police and will report to the Board. The largest response numbers are accidents on US12. Some activity in the manufactured home park.
    3. Issue about signing contract with Dakota Oil. The Township has not signed anything yet. Residents don't seem to be very happy about leasing cemetery property. Dakota really would like the township hall property. Discussions are ongoing.
    4. Leinbach mentioned that the Feitel property (Mooreville Road) is getting worse (trash, weeds, upkeep, etc.). The Township is working with the attorney on this issue.
    5. June 19 is Township cleanup day.

  2. Other
    1. Richard Mason has sold his business and property. Discussion about lawn maintenance business. Where in the zoning ordinance?
    2. Clink property. Investigating a claim that he is charging to have material dumped on the property. Does this fall under horticulture? He has not applied for any permits. Needs to be done. D. Pennington will research and will report to Rankin. Rankin, R. Marion and J. Marion are researching.
    3. Prehn asked about Section 2.202 (p. 2-7) Prohibited Uses. Pennington will also check on this and similar uses.

Old Business:

  1. Master Plan was reviewed. Maps were checked by Luckhardt and Rankin. Pennington redid the maps with the road names added manually. Newer ones are clearer. Feldkamp and Prehn reviewed spelling, etc. Prehn will combine from both into one book and will send to Pennington.

Public Comments:

  1. Leinbach feels that the Crop Production terragators drive much too fast on the roads. Bohnett will talk to Crop Production and will ask that the drivers slow down and stay to the side of the road.

Bohnett moved for adjournment, Zahn support; vote; meeting adjourned, 8:30 p.m. Next regular meeting is June 1, 2010, 7:30 pm.
